Just getting back into it today.



think I might have balls up one of my FV in a nice way, I picked and put my home grown hops in it and just noticed how much resin is stuck to the sides.

Starsan blitz and its still there so one might get an extra hop boost :D



Grains:
8 Kg Pale Malt
1 Kg Micronised Maize
600 g Flaked Wheat
250 g Cara Gold


Hops:

10g Apollo 19.8% @90
10g Apollo 19.8% @60
15g Apollo 19.8% @30
15g Apollo 19.8% @15
30g Apollo 19.8% @ FO

10g Summit 17.5% @90
10g Summit 17.5% @60
15g Summit 17.5% @30
15g Summit 17.5% @15
30g Summit 17.5% @FO

RIMS:
55º
67º

Mash out at 77º

Yeast:
Crouch Vale Wet (Essex)

one brew will get my Creme Caramel fining Idea :shock:

2 x 20l @ 14 Brix now sitting at 18º in the incubator

Just has a small pint tester:
Cloudy but light barley sugar is a good description and as expected that wonderful creamy sweet bread aroma from the Essex fills the glass, not as fruity as I remember but the ferment has been a low 18ºc.

Hops provide a grassy note along side the yeast with a slight sweet tangerine.

Mouth fill is good but thinner than my norm, but a long long way from being pissy.

Hops are not as aggressive as I would have expected being all Bittering High AA% but build to a nice bitter similar to "Titanic's Iceberg" leaving a fresh tingle on your tongue which is a good thing.

its early days but so far so good, would like to high carb this in bottles so watch this space.
