Allotment water quality.

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Allotment water quality.

Hi.

I'm new to the ag brewing process and I'm just weighing up possible routes of progression.
I'm considering brewing biab from my allotment shed.
Can anybody offer advice about water quality on an allotment? I guess it's potable and just mains water.
Also, can anyone recommend a kit for analysis?

This is just an idea at this stage. Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

I imagine it's just a mains water supply. If it comes up to the taps in blue pipe not black it's probably Potable water. where's the allotment?

It does come up in a blue pipe. Obviously, I've made more than the odd cup of tea with it in the shed and it tastes fine and behaves no differently to tap water at home.

The plot is in Huddersfield, West Yorks.

Cheers.
