Hops for Punk
Hops for Punk
I am really enjoying Brewdog's PUNK IPA at the moment. I like the grapefruit/citrus hit from the hops - any idea which hops I could use to copy this?

From the website.
ABV:5.6% OG:1053 IBU's:45 Malts: Marris Otter Extra Pale Malt Hops:Chinook, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Nelson Sauvin
Good luck with getting any Ahtanum and even NS.
Want to brew this myself but can't get the hops so have compromised until the next harvest release.

Re: Hops for Punk
Secue, a member on here recently paid a visit to Brewdog and the head brewer actually said they they use tons of simco to dry hop Punk. Have a search for the video's he posted on youtube.
If I was at home I'd be able to look for the links myself but I'm on my phone in Greece at the mo so can't browse the forum properly
Cheers Tom

Re: Hops for Punk
Good luck finding amarillo. I was at my LHBS yesterday and they are already out for the year and simcoe is not expected to last long. You can use cascade in place of ahtanum.
I'm just here for the beer.
