Brewday 5th may summer lightning

Post by prolix » Sat May 05, 2007 10:32 pm

Brewed up a batch of summer lightning today every thing went well (sorry no photos)

5kg Maris
60g Challenger 90
10g Goldings 15
whirlifloc tablet 15
90 @ 66

20L @ og 1054

Mash tun lost no temp at all in 90 mins which was wierd

I was wandering about efficiencies, do the proteins and what not have a big effect on SG as mine dropped from mash at 64 to og at 54.

I should stop thinking and do more drinking.

I had confusing temp readings on the last brew. Even mixing the mash really well there are still hot and cold spots.
