If you don't like cat sh*t buy a cat. They don't sh*t in their own garden and aren't keen on letting other cats do so either.
Personally I think dogs are as filthy (or worse...also they're more stupid) but that's mostly because I step in their sh*t a lot more often.
I see I'm the only one here who prefers cats to dogs

Do they? You wouldn't think so looking at the amount of dog poo in Railway Road, Downham Market.

Your not steve

Heres my brew buddy Jack. Hes almost 1 and because we have had to keep him indoors since we were moving house soon he barely goes out and craps in his litter tray.
Sorry to add fuel to the fire but cats crap in peoples gardens sure. Dogs crap in public parks, streets, fields and anywhere else people walk them. How many public fouling signs have you seen with a cat on them?
The owners are mostly to blame since the dog is doing what comes with nature. Just like cats. If I see my cat crap on the next doors garden i run and clear it up.

excellent idea !
as for dog sh*t it is disgusting when owners leave it on pavements , but if you write to your parish council or even go to the meetings you can demand signs and bins to be erected in your street, if that doesnt work you can then ask for a dog warden to be appointed . they have a budget for it so make sure they spend it. the budget for my parish is almost 2k a year and that buys a lot of bins and signs , a dog warden would come out of another budget if it was needed.

There are and have always been signs in our kids park, fields and streets. I infact saw someone let their dog crap ON the sign posts base.
These kind of people want the dog but don't want the mess. As a terrible a comparison as it is i would rather a cat crap on my garden where i could quickly find it and clean it up in case my child found it rather than let my kid loose on a field full of dog crap.
Swings and roundabouts. Cats and dogs do what comes natural. It's upto us as owners to clean up after them.

But the bottom line is that dog messing is at least a recognised issue that people try and combat and have healthy debates about. Cats are considered cute, clever and beyond reproach.
Dogs don't leap over my garden fence every night, crap everywhere, root up plants and bound away into the night to snuggle up to their willfully irresponsible owners.
Ooh, I'm not usually so moody, but I'm fed up of having to clear up my own lawn before kids can play, and some cat owners really get my goat with their thousand yard gooey smiles

What are we going to do about the birds? The b*stards! They sh*t anywhere and they don't bother clearing up!

I wouldn't worry about that. At the current rate cats will have soon wiped out the bird population.

I also prefer cats, though we don't have any animals at the moment.
Some people find cats a problem, but there are quite a few in our street and I can't say they've ever bothered me. Dog crap in public places is a far worse problem in my opinion. At least cats bury it.

Exactly at least cat's try and clean their own crap up by burying it!!! They also take a dump in soil... what's the problem, you should be pleased, the nutrients in the crap help your flowers grow!

apparently cat crap is the only faeces that has no benefit to soil whatsoever, it doesnt add anything to the soil and often doesnt even break down thats why you end up with fossilized turds in your veg patch .
i saw this on some science programme (yes i was watching a programme about sh*t for some reason) the plus side to this is you can dig the hard ones up and fashion them into an attractive dry stone border around your garden

Dog crap in the street is undoubtedly a problem but that is the fault of the owner not clearing up, not the dog.
Cats are of course only doing what comes natually to them by crapping anywhere they feel but if I took a crap in my neighbours garden I would expect a boot up my arse, which is exactly what I would give to a cat if I caught one in my garden.
