Argh, the weather has turned against me.

Okay, so I knew it was going to rain today but I was expecting light showers. It is bucketing it down. Got about an hour left on the boil. Hopefully it will die down without watering my wort too much!!!

Pie's Brewery is now closed for the day.

Everything went better than expected despite the one or two 'problems'.

The weather brightened up so wasn't an issue.

I overshot my target of 35 pints by 4 so ended up with 39 pints @ 1.052.

This gives me 74% efficiency, a personal best.

Now it's time to go to the cinema to watch Spiderman 3....

So did I. I think it was because I got wort down the inside of the metal probe where the cable runs into it. It was only a cheepo jobbie though.

Does anyone use the type the reads the surface temperature. You know the point and read ones? Are they suitable for or needs or is it better to have aprobe to read the temperature deeper in the mash?
