I've never got that with citra! Just big juicy tropical fruits !testtube wrote:And that!pdtnc wrote:I find Citra to be Grassy.
Haven't had much luck with dry hopping, been a bit obsessive with getting the biggest "hop bomb" out of hops, tried many different methods. But I might have another go with it, didn't realise I'd done that many things wrong!leedsbrew wrote:I've never got that with citra! What?! That's cooky talk. Centennial is one of the best, most versatile dual-purpose hops ever grown, hands down. Absolutely nothing catty about it. Brew a single-hop Centennial IPA and you may never brew another recipe.testtube wrote:...Centinnal is a cat pee hop apparently...
That doesn't follow. Chinook is a pungent and memorable hop, you'll likely love it or hate it, but whatever characteristics you think you dislike about Centennial, Chinook matches that and doubles-down.testtube wrote:...Going to have to get me some Chinook.
It's from a podcast (Link below), which I'll finish listening to, was getting a bit late. And running out of patience!seymour wrote:What?! That's cooky talk. I know. I'm saying they're dead wrong about that, I wasn't directing it at you personally.testtube wrote: ...It's from a podcast (Link below), which I'll finish listening to...
Like the sound of that book, think I shall get myself one.
I highly recommend it too, I recently finished reading it. I'd agree it's mostly background info and a handy reference, but not necessarily a ton of actionable homebrew instruction. Lots of great tidbits and some cool recipes, though. I liked the holistic approach, not just yet another IPA book.testtube wrote: ...Like the sound of that book, think I shall get myself one.

Take out the **it and you would have about 15 mins of info, sounds perfect for a podcast to me!pdtnc wrote:All that said, I think us Brits mostly lack what it takes to make a good Brewing Podcast.
