Couple of minor adjustments made prior to tomorrows brew day.

60g at flame out reduced to 50g and the dry hop upped to 60g.
Also will only use 1 sachet of yeast for this brew.
Looking forward to this :D

Cheers Tom

Well it's in the fermenter.

It's my first time using Rob's West Coast style yeast. I hope it behaves itself :)
Has anybody got previous with this yeast?

Congrats, here's hoping it turns out great!

It's almost certainly just the California Ale/Sierra Nevada/Chico/US-05 strain. If so, the answer is yes, we've all got experience with it. It'll be a high-attenuating and very neutral fermentor, letting the hops do the talking which is what you want here.

I predict it'll perform identically. That said, who cares? Clarity is overrated, and clarifying agents scrub-away some of your precious hops character too. But if a little haze bothers you, then you should always add a little Irish Moss to the boil kettle with about 15 min remaining.

I use Protafloc in the boil.

A bit of haze doesn't bother me. I don't use and finings apart from the Protafloc, it's just the amount of sediment that ends up in the keg that's a bit of a pain.
I'm probably being a bit too fussy but I'd feel happier kegging something that's at least started to clear down

Gotcha, that makes sense. I still think you'll be very happy with the way this beer turns out. Cheers!

The mrs was giving me some grief about the amount of hops I've got in the freezer so I just had to get a brew on, I just blamed you

I don't know where I got the grapefruit thing from? The dead flame out hops did smell gorgeous though :D Maybe I should have left them longer than 30 mins #-o
One of these days I'll grow the b@lls to do something really hoppy. Maybe use 400g in a brew just for the hell of it. I've got a good stock of American hops along with some Aussie and NZ leaf. I do need to use some of them up so I may experiment with my next brew rather than do another Bombay IPA ( it is nice though =P~ ).

That's the dry hops in.

I must get some more marbles to weigh the bag down. Those hops do want to float don't they? That's with only 60g too, what they going to be like when I use 100g + :(

Cheers Tom
