This is making such a mess of my floor. I left a good foot and a half of headspace, but i've had to mop up sludge 3 times today already

Mine was a 5 gallon batch in a 10 gallon bin so thank goodness for that.
What temp have you got this fermenting at mysterio?

WLP300 sure like to get around !

Do you intent to save some of the yeast?

I've got ambient at about 17C but judging by the warmth of the fermenter it could be about 20C in there. I don't like it to get much higher than that personally.

I've got big plans for this yeast! 5 gallons will be getting left as a hefeweizen, the other 5 gallons is getting filtered to make a kristalweizen, and i'm going to re-use the yeast to make a weizenbock in the style of Schneider Aventinus.

There's this stuff called antifoam....

Works for me. Did a Weissbier 20L in a 23L fermenter....didn't lose a drop.

I've always wondered, does this stuff kill the beer foam/head as well?
