Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
I see this one here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ON-OFF-Start- ... 5aecaccb1e
is non latching and they can mix and match contacts so you get 2x NO. Still two weeks wait.... hmmm... hmmm.... No I can't.

At £2.02 its got to worth a punt, although I hope the finger pictures in the ad is a very small figure otherwise that unit is massive?
If I cant get the other one working I`ll take a punt tho later this week, only trouble is theres no shiny mount?

This is the mockup of my panel. I have existing holes from where I rescued it from the skip, stripped it and resprayed it. So to make everything work without the rigmarole of filling the holes I could put all my Sestos units in a line.
I asked our mate Steve to engrave me smaller labels than the size Kev went for so hopefully everything should fit.
My top line is a bit cluttered with all those lights. I'd kill for a bigger panel but we've come this far so I'm going to make it work.
I'm toying with the idea of putting my E-Stop on the side but I really want it all on the front. If I did that I could buy the Start Stop button I linked a minute ago and put the alarm in place of the Green start button. Then put my 'Safe Start Interlock' light and E-Stop engaged in plcae of the alarm and E-Stop. Thoughts???

(See the size of my switch at the top middle with 4 double banks of contacts)
EDIT: If I did move my E-Stop to the side it would end up looking a little more like this:

Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
My initial thoughts at the moment on how to free up space, albeit might cost a little more in £ and weighting time.....
Have the key switch incorporated into the panic button, that would delete the key switch, if then used the dual function switch for the timer that would indeed delete another switch.
Would it be too difficult to mount the pids / timer all in a row due to the cabinet lock?
Perhaps mount the small LCD directly above the larger LCD?
Theres going to be a lot of wiring in there

Just seen your other picture, since typing my reply, I would put the e switch on the front where you can easily hit the thing if needed?

Tell me about it.
The key switch is actually a Timer-Off-Run switch. It switches the output of the timer from going to start the panel to firing the alarm.
I am going a slightly different route to the Electric Brewery but in essence it will do almost the same thing
Does your Panic button double as a 3 position switch?
I want my LCD display to be where it is so that I can label 'Pump 1 Control' and it will all be in a line. It'd probably make more sense if I had the labels in place.
I agree with you about the E-Stop on the front but.......... My panel will be mounted to the right of my brewstand on a section of wall in my garage that just so happens to jut out in perfect the right place. So... It'd actually be just as easy to hit it on the side. But looking at those pictures side by side I prefer the first one. I want the E-Stop on the front.
Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
I want a Start stop button, but what would I fill the space left by the stop button with?
Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
Just so it makes a bit more sense. The white lights are for the pumps. One is 24V solar pump so I have voltage regulations. One is klaxin. I will either be running that full pelt or using a ball valve to control flow so no LCD required. The Green lights are elements 1 & 2.
Top row (lights are upside down) left to right Safe Start Interlock Fail, E-Stop Engaged. HLT light, HLT/BOIL selector switch, BOIL Light, 24V On, Panel Live.
The rest are self explanatory.
Edit: Forgot to say my pump controls will be in front of me built into the brewstand. I also have an external E-Stop mounted on the brewstand so the panel one will be a backup for when someone comes in and sees me on the floor and reaches for the control panel or if I'm over the other side of the garage when it blows up

I`m assuming that the bottom LCD is a clock? if so that comes with a push button for setting the thing (I know it has battery back up etc) I used the black momentary switch on my build for setting the clock.
The E Button has only 2 points.
"Safe Start Interlock Fail, E-Stop Engaged" ? have I forgotten something?

I just wanted them so when the Panel didn't start I knew why straight away. A bit pointless but at least its fool proof.
Bugger I didn't think about setting the clock. I just figured i'd set it once and that'd be it. I like your thinking. Just cut out the existing switch and put in another momentary swtich. Bugger. I shouldn't have posted anything at all tonight and my build would actually get started.
I've ordered my labels now. Probably too late to add a Time Set. I've emailed Steve and asked if he can add another label as I only paid him this afternoon. Just in case I decide to use it.
I can always set the time by opening the panel though.
The clock has a battery yeah and it said in the add something like it will keep the time for four years in off mode.

Yep you really dont need a switch for the clock, but I dont know what there time keeping is like?
How is the safety start interlock light wired? many a time at the moment Ive been scratching my head as to why the unit hasnt powered only to find out its either the internal switch or the thing isnt actually plugged in

Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
Have a quick glance at this. I whip it up on Illustrator the other day to make sure everything I was doing would work. All my mates at work have seen it and say it makes absolutely no sense. It makes perfect sense to me but I drew it so I know which bits I've left out for clarity.
There are no neutrals. No negatives. No clear distinction as to what is really going on. Most of the switches/relays are drawn in the wrong position as I just copied pasted and flipped Horizontal. But... if you just follow the 24V and the purple 24V safe start loop line then it should explain your question. Basically when the relay isn't energised the NC contact will power the light 'Safe Start Interlock Fail' and when energised it will hold on. I've only drawn the Safe Start line in purple so I could draw it as a separate entity. It is just part of the 24V control circuit going through the NC contacts on each switch the same as in your build.
I also haven't drawn in the contact which changes the output from the Timer from the Panel to the Alarm.

Cheers for the diagram, I think I`ve got the principle / worked out how I could install yet another light. As for the E light that wont be a problem for my build.
Cheers

Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
I faltered and messaged our Chinese friends with the start stop switched to ask how I ordered the switch with 2x normally open contacts. They replied saying they couldn't. I replied saying "that's not what your ad says". Waiting for a reply. Sometime the language barrier causes problems. if it was telemechanique it wouldn't be a problem.

Re: Electric Brewery Build UK Version
The AD does say please purchase multiple switches to mix and match... ie I think they want you to buy more than 1 switch
