Update on this one, about halfway through the pressure barrel, and this is NICE!
Beautiful head on this bad-boy, with Guinness esk lacing, cloudy still, I guess late hops have left residue in suspension.
Very subtle aroma, odd considering the steep, perhaps I should have dry hopped it. (at the last minute I decided to use 40g in the aroma steep instead of a dryhop split)
Lovely hop taste, a little earthy, in a nice way, I don't really get blackberries, perhaps you need more to get that to come through intensely, but I can imagine this working nicely with another lighter flowery hop like EKG.
If I was to brew again I might want to dry this out a touch, get a higher ABV (came out at 4.3%) cut back on the special malts, perhaps lower the crystal and amber a touch, and boost the late hops, combining with another perhaps EKG or Cascade, but it's pretty nice as is
