I got hooked on this on holiday in the Lake District one year and brought a dozen bottles to take home. I know that it is a seasonal ale but I have not seen it sold anywhere near where I live.
I don't suppose anyone has a recipe for it. I know it uses Phoenix and target hops and I assume it is 100% pale malt. Strength is 4.2%.
I guess the target would be used for bittering and Phoenix for aroma. I would think bitterness in the 25 - 30 IBU'S range.
It is a nice easy drinking light summer ale and I really fancy knocking up a batch.

Re: Batemans Summer Swallow
Everything you state sounds reasonable to me, although I haven't seen any Bateman's recipe which uses 100% pale malt. All the ones I've seen contain wheat and 10-20% Invert Sugar Syrup. Even their simplest, palest ales, are believed to be something like 90% Pale Malt & 10% Invert Sugar Syrup.
There's nothing wrong with that, mind you. Keep the fermentation temp low, and pitch a big healthy yeast culture, and you'll end-up with a delicious, lighter-bodied summer refresher. Best of luck!

There are recipes for batemans victory, best bitter and xxxb in GW's British real ale book. Might give some pointers but not come across summer swallow.

When it comes to yeast I believe that Brewlabs do a Lincolnshire yeast on request, though that may have absolutely nothing to do with Batemans of course! Other than that, do Batemans produce a bottle conditioned beer?
