I think i've read here that using torrified wheat can help with head retention, is this something that you can add to any brew and how much should I use, also is there anywhere I should avoid using it (certain beer types?)

I usually add around 4% in my beers, being a northener I like to see a head on my beers, the only type I don't use it in is Mrs H's lagers, I did it once and got a thumbs down from her. :wall

Although wheat can add protein to stabilize and help with head retention you should not have to add it to archive good head

I'm having a quick loss of head when I serve from the keg in by beer fridge (13 degrees) when it's a bit warmer 17/18 it's fine, thought i'd try it and see.
