Bold Forester Recipe?

Post by phatboytall » Fri May 14, 2010 12:19 pm

Anyone got a recipe for this?

Big fan of it, Ringwood's Spring Beer, sadly they didn't brew it this year, and from chatting to the Marstons marketing man i'm not full of hope it will be back next year...

So i might have to create my own to revive it! Though whether i can get my local Ringwood pubs to take it back on might be a challenge!

Its described as :
"Bold Forester 4.2%
Tasting Notes: An amber-hued ale with bold hop bitterness and a fine fresh aroma achieved through generous late-hopping with Wye Challenger. Biscuity malt and pronounced hop character with a crisp, dry finish."

Hopefully quite a few clues there!

I'm a bit of an beginner at this so very appreciative of anyone who can run this through a beer engine and come up with a recipie.

Then i'll try and interogate someone at the brewery next time i'm doing a tour (and try and get some yeast)

oooh where did you get that from seymour?

One you've made yourself? It looks very good.

That's cobbled together with clues I've come across on their own website and several other sources, awhile back when I was researching the usage of Progress hops. I haven't brewed it, but it's on the to-do list, and I agree it looks very good. I haven't tasted the real deal, so if you brew it, you'll have to let me know how it goes.

Cheers!
