Cheers

So that's an RCD main switch? I can't see the test button from the photo.

Belter wrote:Cool then you can wire your alarm into output C and set it for an alarm period 1s to 99hours. You need to power the timer and loop the supply to the common contact on output c. Then take the Normally open contact on output C to the alarm Light. The circuit diagram and numbers for each contact are displayed on the side of the timer. Very handy.

Ok I have this wired up using the (A) configuration at the end of the set period my alarm sounds :) the only thing is it also sounds as soon as I turn the power on to the control panel until I hit the start button #-o

If I now want this to fire up the brewery in the early hours what would be the best way to configure this unit.

I was hoping to be able to set the timer the night before to kick the HLT in at say 4am ready for me to mash in at 6am. But I also want to use the timer for my brew session (mash time ect) do I need to use both A & C outputs ?

I am also unsure what options B & D do ?

You will need a switch that on one throw debts the output of the timer to the alarm (run mode) and in the other throw powers the brewery (timer mode). If no-one else chimes in before I get back from work I'll explain to you how I've done mine with a drawing.

My timer always outputs on output c so output A counts down from say 5 hrs then powers the brewery on output c

Hi Lee,

A drawing would be good as I am a little :?

A & C are the outputs but what is B & D used for ?

Intervals. Times where the relay isn't powering anything.

So lets say you had a machine that loaded grain into a mash tun. You could set A to 10 seconds. Then have an interval (B) of 90minutes. Then option C would empty the mash tun for ten minutes. Then a set interval (D). Make sense?

Sorry again mate. Motorbiking prevailed. It was freezing.

Send me a PM reminder tomorrow night and I'll try and get round to it after I play woodworker at my mates workshop. Going to start on my mash paddle ;)

Excellent! That'll take away the guesswork. You'll find a use for that in more places that this build.
