Nitrogen Vs CO2
Nitrogen Vs CO2
Is there any reason why you couldnt use Oxygen free Nitrogen for pressureising Kegs rather than CO2?
If you mean simply using nitrogen as opposed to CO2 I would have to ask why? The beer will produce it's own CO2 regardless of any nitrogen being present. You also need to check whether adding N2 to beer (an organic compound) is a good idea as reactions may occur. The only reason I could think of using N2 (or in liquid form - LN) is to cool the beer (extremely) for fermentation in summer. This is not a good idea as apart from dropping the wort to around -200C
you would also need to be able to handle the stuff (not literally).
Seriously though, I would just stick to what occurs naturally and let it brew with CO2.
Thinking about it, you could maybe use Nitrous Oxide and make everyone very happy with whatever beer you produce.

The Nitrogen wouldnt be to add sparkle to the beer, that would be done by secondary fermentation and subsequent CO2. The Nitrogen would just be used to push the beer out when the level and pressure drops. The rational behind this is that i can get a refulator and cylender for nowt and that would cut out a lot of cost
