How does a fermenting bin with an airlock let you know it's done?

Without a hydrometer reading you don't know if the yeast has finished gone dormant for some reason or another
Hold on hold on, it was a little tongue in cheek. What I have found is that even when I am at predicted FG and I am letting the beer condition in a second FV having racked off, I still get the odd bubble through the airlock. It is a phenomenon that convinces me of how much time yeast actually needs to "finish" all its work during fermentation. If there are no more bubbles it's done.

I think it would be more use snaking through the roof space of the ladies' changing rooms at Ann Summers but then I'm just a pervy old git. Actually when I was on the staff of an Army training unit a webcam was actually found in our female recruits' showers. We made the national press over that one! (It wasn't me!)
