I`m trying to source 3 clips for holding down my pot lid.
The sort of thing I`m after are normally use on tool boxes or jars, sort of a latch clip thingy, anyone know what they might be called or could recommend something, ideally they would be fixed the to timber cover and just latch onto the pot rim.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

How about a nice piece of Oak about 50x18x18 with a screw though the middle so it twists and locks down on the rim. Could even have a cam on the foot end to get it really tight.
And it would match the lovely wood.

Cheers barney Thanks for the idea some sort of bench dog might be the ideal solution? Either as you mention made out of Oak (stainless steel bolt etc.) or shop bought?
Will have to see what I have in my "dog collection" of bits

Sort of thing I was looking for, although looking further on the site mention something more on the lines of these, but the hoop bit being a long "U" shape to latch over the rim.

Clive,
I may be able to help you out.We use the same style that are used marmite pots at work Im not sure if they are stainless though would that be a problem ? In think they may be chrome plated.

Something similar to the marmite pot would be ideal except I couldn't (read cant) weld anything to the pot lid.

Cheers gents for all the suggestion, as I`ve already got some Oak left over, I think I`ll try barney`s suggestion out with some sort of bolt / wing nut arrangement, sort of like a porthole fixing bolt. Now to try and buy one.. Anyone know what hinged wingnuts are called?

I use something like this on my (coolbox) mash tun to hold lid down tight

This may work too but probably pricey

I didn't know they made
sash window fasteners in SS
If the sash window locks don't float your boat maybe make an oak version of these
sash jammers
