Thanks Daab, first outing tomorrow - may have to boil in the bathroom though as the weather forecast is for rain all day :(

Must get a brewing shed sorted out - alternatively a garage

That's a neat looking cooler eb! You'll be amazed at how well it cools your wort. It has to be my most favourite piece of brewing equipment. :D

P.S. That's a grand looking bit of stonework too, is that a wall or the side of your house? Makes me want to go for a long walk in the country with the dog, ending up at an old inn for a jar or two! :beer

That's the garden wall BB. The house is stone built too but the back is rendered (why oh why use render when stone looks so much better - able to use cheap stone and cover up with render I guess).

I know this is an old thread but I am considering building a CFC.

Andy, can you remember where you sourced the clear 5/8" PVC hose from?

Cheers

twas from ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-8-Braided-Hose- ... dZViewItem

Not from those guys but exactly the same stuff.

Mine was much cheaper though and I think it was a one-off from a seller, you'd want more than 5m's worth....

Bob you made that counterflow cooler look easy.

Cheers Andy, DaaB.

That ebay supplier still seems the cheapest for a 10m length. Seems a bit steep though. I may have to opt for regular garden hose type stuff <_<

Thanks Jason, but that is 3/8" hose. They don't appear to actually do 5/8". They do 3/4" but that, alas, is a little more expensive than the 5/8" from the ebay supplier.

Cheers anyway.

Hi Frothy (Matt),

To be honest, it was pretty easy - took around an hour if I remember from start to finish. Go for it... :D
