Cheers for all the replies I gone for these to start with Image
Quite like the sash jammer but not too sure if PVC would start to melt?

If this doesn't work a sash fastener pop riveted or a thumb screw with timber cam piece.

In case you change your mind I saw this M6 SS Eye-Bolt

suggested on another topic.

All you'd need to do is tap a thread in the oak if its thick enough?

Cheer Mate, I`ve tried a trial fit and they work quite well albeit I used the arm has the hold down part.

Glad it worked OK. I like the way you've used those, with the handle keeping the lid on. I must admit I did think in the advert they didn't really look like SS ones more like some sort of alloy but in your pic they do look a lot better.

Is it me or have you been sealing/varnishing that oak?

Yep as much as I wanted to keep a natural Oak finish, due to the enviroment / use I`ve gone for an oil finish whick has slightly darkned the finish, just have to refit the stainless bands + the two new middle bands and the project is ready for a full test. Another item ticked off the list :)

Nope not yet I`m waiting until the other items are finished, which isnt far away, then it will be a full on brewday into the unknown with all new equipment (HLT, MT, RIMMS, Boiler, Filter, Conical + Control panel) what could go wrong :?: #-o BeerSmith2 could be interesting with the calcs, a nice simple recipe me thinks.

Cheers
