Yea I'll get some pics up once done.

What I did a few weeks back was to turn the fridge stat to 5 and work my way down to 1, with a day in between. I noted the temperature at each increment so now I know what number on the stat for a particular temperature :D

What's the temp range you get just using fridge thermostat?

Horses for courses. Glad it suits you.

I normally prefer ale around 12C, but 9C is a damn site better than 22-25C which is the temp by beer was in my garage last year. :(

JMC, reckon it would be possible to get 4 small cornies in there? e.g. if you made a shelf across the back resting on the compressor, would you fit two raised up at the back, and two more in front?

I've got 4 small cornies & am hoping I can find a fridge to squeeze them all in!

I took pic below when I was working out heater position.
I used a 1/2 depth shelf that came with the fridge

To answer your question, yes you could fit in 4 :)
You could have 2 small in the back and either
IF NO heater inside eg kegerator in kitchen not garage
a) 2 full size in front
IF heater inside on LHS
b) 1 full size (RHS) and 1 small under heater (LHS)
c) 1 small (RHS) and 1 small under heater (LHS)

Amazing, Thats exactly the sort of fridge I need to find. I was originally looking to house my 4 small cornies, but good to know the big ones fit too.

Now to find one to buy... :D

Good luck with your search. Hotpoint RLA larder fridges come up reasonably often on eBay.

I should have mentioned that you will have to store gas externally, like I do.

Thought I should add a note of warning to this topic..

Kegerator has been working fine recently. I appreciate having ale at 11c rather than 6c in garage , however I had a surprise in the week.

I was replacing an empty keg when I heard a loud leak in the gas line.
First thoughts were I'd broken a connection, but after shutting down reg then testing I couldn't find leak in any of the joints.

It turned out that the lamp had melted a hole in the 3/8 gas line. During the move I must have rested line on the lamp.

I replaced that length of pipe and that fixed the leak.

During fix I noticed that the lamp had also melted a bit of the side of the fridge.

I cooled lamp down, cleaned it up and fitted a brass plate to that side of the fridge so that if it did accidentally touch the side in the future no harm would be done.

It was my own fault. I must have moved it some time before when moving kegs.
Goes to show you need to be very careful with position of these lamps.

I may look into getting a cage for the lamp the same as some reptile owners use.
