So I've had some time to think about this method - the results have been great.
Pellets are still the default option for dry hopping; they break up and float to the bottom of the FV regardless of temperature over the course of a week.
The "Experimental 366" hop only comes in whole hop form at the moment and based on the aroma from the blitzed hop batch I can say that I get a similar aroma hit compared to using pellet hops. Just to echo the other comments here, you really need to chill the beer to get the hops to drop even when blitzing which can be inconvenient. They also take up a large amount of deadspace in the FV compared to pellet hops - but not as much as un-blitzed whole hops.
Exp366 is a really interesting hop - like a mix of Citra, Columbus and Amarillo I think...

Well they didn't escape from the bag but unfortunately, not much in the way of flavour/aroma did eithersoupdragon wrote:Just blitzed my hops..... They're now sitting at the bottom of my fermenter doing their thing

could there be an issue with oxidation, putting beer or water into a blender with your hops?

No moreso than just dumping them in I would have thought, there's still yeast activity so that should help.
You're never going to completely eliminate the risk of course, some pro breweries will go to extra lengths if the beer is going to be bottled and sit on a shelf for a while.

I thought I should update everyone on how my first beer tastes after using this dry hopping method, it's been in the bottle 6 weeks and definitely has a great hop aroma and taste!
I did a IPA dry hopped with about 60g of Simcoe for about 6-7 days. I don't have a fridge for chilling to make the hops drop so I sieved it and let it stand for a few days in the bottling FV before finally sticking in bottles. The beer is very clear with no hop particles visible.
If I dry hop again, I will use this method!
