People are always resistant to something new, although I would have to argue about the newness of keg technology. That's maybe a valid argument about the Ecofass kegs, but I have been wondering why people don't use sankey kegs for a long time. As is often the case the drive to swap over has been lead by our American cousins who don't seem to take such a negative approach to change.

I’ve 12 corny's that have served me well, the constant seal/poppet checking and replacing along with the odd seal or poppet leak is a pain. I would like to go with 20L kegs with industry standard couplings, the only issue for me is complete cleaning/sanitising. Since starting water treatment of my very soft water, I find a small amount of beerstone scale (calcium oxalate C2CaO4) in all my cornies and FV’s, after trying a various methods of removal I use a trade' Beerstone Remover' a phosphoric/nitric acid mixture, requiring arm access, although I seem to be alone on the forum with this issue?

Well Mine are being delivered tomorrow at 7ish (btw if your names Matt and you live in the Walderslade area you more than likely get yours also at sometime tomorrow), so that and my hop plants flowering means I`m happy again.

Just got my kegs, had to remove the spears, the 5p trick does work :)

Also bought a spare spear just for the spares box.

It was £12.60 Inc. VAT, only bought it just in case anything happens.

Also gave Mat the details of this website, so whether he joins or not I don't know?

Just been removing the clips from my spears, two ways of doing it either cutting or prising the clip off, sorry for the camera work this time. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS to use the kegs FOR SAFETY KEEP THE CLIP IN PLACE.

AS always only remove a spear if there is no pressure in the keg otherwise its Darwin Award time.

Thats cheap! I'll ask if Justin will swap mine, otherwise I'll just buy another.

Out of interest, what type did you have Clive (the tabs type), square or tapered?
