Hmm, haven't made this for a bit, going to get myself two or three kits for when I need to get something off quickly in the cooler months.

That will be considered. I have a lot of beer to brew and get through first though. :P

Irish Extra Stout craftsman kit expired Jan 13 (reduced at LHBS) so I went and bought 3kg Extra-Dark DME for it today. And right now, more kits ain't really in the budget with a payment for two cornies leaving my bank account soon. :P Maybe once delivered and after some cash I'll do a double-3 gal. 2 Coopers, brewed to 5 gal. ;)

Problem: as I mentioned previously, this stuff was lovely straight out of the FV. Bottled into Coopers 500ml PET bottles, primed with 1/3 Tspn of normal cane sugar and left in a dark cupboard for secondary fermentation and conditioning.

Poured a bottle the other night and was amazed at the unpleasant, yeasty taste. Promptly poured glass down sink.

I encountered the same strong yeasty taste on my first homebrew experience, a Coopers Lager, which was also bottled in the very same PET bottles. The Coopers European Lager and the Woodfordes Admirals Reserve I've done since were bottled in glass bottles and had no similar issue.

Any ideas?

Is it possible you didn't tighten the caps all the way? I've made a Ditch's Stout and bottled with a mixture of PET and glass and had no problems at all.
