might brew at 6 am

Post by AT » Sun Jun 03, 2007 11:37 pm

this is what i have:
Malt:
Belgian special b 138 grams
Chocolate malt 315 grams
Belgian Aromatic 73 grams
Maris otter 14 kg

Sugar:
Brown candi sugar 315 grams

hops:
Halletauer hersbucker
East Kent Goldings
Fuggles
Willamet
Challenger

I'd like to use a few different types of hops as i've no experience with anything other than east kent goldings. Oblivious very kindly suggested a mild but i'd like to complicate the taste a bit

Well here is a stupid idea i'll mix up 20 grams of each= 100 grams and add them as 50 50 cause i'm more concerned about aroma this time, also it will be my first time using copper finings so i'll be expecting an improvement from that and also my first proper use of a refractometer

Kind of lost me on what you are intending to do, but either way hope it goes well for you.

PS if you are going to brew at 6 am my advice is to stop arseing about on the internet and get your self a few hours kip

just when it was all going well
Mrs Taipan wanted to go to the shop so i said of course honey. Crashed the car right in front of a cop and who said there's never one around when you need one  He asked me what happened and what could i do only laugh and say i was looking at you and not the road. Reversed right into the bull bar on the front of a recovery truck Mrs Taipan was not very pleased to say the least

Anyway to the important stuff the beer looks great, my first time using whirlfoc tablets and the clarity is amazing

Oh shit AT, hope you're both OK!
I suspect you were over-tired. Next time let her drive perhaps?
Is there much damage to the car? What'd ye crash into?

No i'd say i'll fix it for about 30 euro from a scrap yard, now i think it's time for a well deserved brew. Oh i nearly forgot i had a sneak preview of my Chimay clone after two week in the corny and it's rotten, maybe it's something to do with the wrong yeast? s04 anyhoot it will sit there for at least six months before i'll give up on it
