reseeding bright beer is done extensively throughout the bottle conditioned side of the industry theres even specialist yeasts for ithttp://www.danstaryeast.com/products/cb ... beer-yeast its got a fair old alcohol tolerance (12-14%) im not sure if you can get this in sensible amounts though
personally i just bottle with a few points left and a little batch priming('bout .9g per 500ml bottle)ie i transfer from my fv to my bottling tank and into my bottles. this approach will only really work with a good chilling solution

Re: Imperial Stout Carbonation
Thanks for that Critch
Exactly what I was looking for!!!
Yep I know its done extensively throughout the industry however up till now iv'e seen so many different home brew posts suggesting different amounts of yeast
So, the data sheet recommends 10g per H/L rehydrated in sterilised water or a 2% priming sugar solution for abv >9% If my maths serves me well that equates to 2.3g per 23ltr
Not sure where we as home brewers could buy an 11g sachet of this though

Re: Imperial Stout Carbonation
I too am interested in trying this with a brew and recently discovered this yeast at The Home Brew Shop in Aldershot.
I haven't used it yet but I am tempted to try it in something...

Cheers for that Darthballs. Gonna give this a go I think.
As I said in my previous post, bottle conditioning of "bright" beer with a secondary strain is no doubt debated in the forums but certainly I hadn't seen anyone one quoting chapter and verse with a link to a data sheet till Critch's post that is. Top man he is!
