Hi Lee , id add some dextrose maybe 300g just to thin it out a bit , as maybe be a bit heavy as is . you could try a jar of honey 454g instead of dex ? saaz or Hallertau , maybe Tettnang as all german suitable for style , wheats dont need to be hoppy , instead of goldings , so 20g - 30g in dry hopped is plenty

Thanks for your reply.
I'll add 300g of dex to it. It's only 15L kit so will all that malt and sugar be too much fermentables?
I only have Golding hops unfortunately so will they be ok in a small 20g dose?

hi Lee,
no 300g dex is fine , you could just do kit as listed above and see how it turns out , its preference really . over 3.0kg of malt is only 80% fermentable, where dex is 100% , its about finding a balance that suits you. yeah go with Goldings x 20g why not, and brew at close to 20c room temp.

This is how high the spew went.
Glad it was only half full.

hi, i did the same kit, but i add only 50% candy sugar and 50% Malt extract.....its brewing since 5 days, but the spew wasnt so high like yours....is this normal for this kind o beer kit?? how it worked with yours??? in the end, with changes that you made, is more similar with the germans wheat beer, or with the belgium witbiers~??
cheers

Spew that much isn't normal for me. I haven't tried it yet but I will let you know how it works out.
It's dropped crystal clear though, which is odd.

Not a bad base, Tarweiber

I used golden syrup and added bitter curaco orange peel and cracked/toasted corriander seed - came out quite bitter initially, but mellowed with age to a lovely citrus and herbal finish.
