Hi all
I wanted to brew a red ale (never done one before) and have come up with this recipe, can you please critique it or add suggestions. I have never used Melanoidin Malt but i have it in stock so beleive it does add a redness to the beer but can also be quite strong tasting?

Lager Malt 2.5 EBC 4080 grams 83.2%
Caramalt 30 EBC 510 grams 10.4%
Melanoidin Malt 70 EBC 245 grams 5%
Crystal Malt, Dark 300 EBC 66 grams 1.3%
Chinook 12.5 % 60 mins (FWH) 6 grams
Columbus 16.5 % 60 mins (FWH) 6 grams
Chinook 12.5 % 15 mins 10 grams
Columbus 16.5 % 15 mins 10 grams
Columbus 16.5 % 5 mins 20 grams
Chinook 12.5 % 5 mins 20 grams
Final Volume: 23 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.048
Final Gravity: 1.012
Alcohol Content: 4.6% ABV
Total Liquor: 34.4 Litres
Mash Liquor: 12.3 Litres
Mash Efficiency: 80%
Bitterness: 43 EBU
Colour: 22 EBC

Looks nice, perhaps more like a red IPA, but lovely none the less.
Melanoidin will add (red) colour to the beer along with some mouthfeel and bisquit aroma. The 5% you have shouldn't "take over" the profile, looks like a nicely balanced beer.
I'd mash at ~66º
