June 9th, Finally a brewday with pictures

Post by flytact » Sat Jun 09, 2007 9:02 pm

Finished up a 4.5 hour brew day and figured out the picture thing.
Here's the recipe, haven't named it yet:
8 lb. 12 oz Maris Otter
8 oz. wheat malt
1 oz Challenger 60 min.
1 oz Mt. Hood 20 min
1 oz MH 2 min
S-04 yeast

Here's the brewery in all its glory. (?)

Here's my "Hop-goblin" recipe hack that I'm sipping while brewing

Immersion chiller, put the ball on there to keep you all interested

Running into the carboy, put the stroller there to keep direct sunlight off

Here's part of the future "Teak and Holly', got a long way to go

Why yes, that was Earl and Jim on the shelf

I bet there's some serious sampling goes on on that deck. Outside is definitely where I prefer to sup my ale 8)

Look like it went well flytact. Great pictures and setup.

I takes me a full 8 hours to do a brew (including cleaning up). How do you manage to do it in 4.5 hours? I could get 2 brews into one day if I could manage that  I'm only me third all grain so maybe I will get faster as I get more used to it.

Cheers on the resize Daab.

Niall K: Practice, practice, practice. Lots of batches under my belt and lots of multi-tasking. For me the most important thing in getting a brew done in a timely manner is having the water ready. I've managed to figure out when and how. You'll get there.

Update on the beer: thought I was on the gas for three days but forgot to turn up the pressure, so only been on for two days.
Had to take a taste - smells a bit funky, no worries, and tastes a bit young. Should be perfect early next week.

Fantastic setup flytact. I'm envious of your weather too (it's flooding here right now.) So you'r using one cool box as a HLT? What kind of power is that burner?
