So as I'm just serving beer do you think taping it to the side of the inside of the fridge will be ok? I want to make sure the compressor does not cycle too often if I'm opening the door.

Its unlikely you'll open kegerator / fridge much so you may be OK on the side of the fridge.

If you don't want to fix to beer then maybe place probe in a small bottle of liquid to act as a temperature buffer.

Thanks. Thats what Im after, something to buffer the temp and delay the reaction of the controller. It's less of an issue now as the weather is so cold. I'll trial it come the spring :)
