big connecters measure 1" across and smaller ones are 3/4" as far as i can tell.

There are a few ways to do it.....I use 3/4" camlock connectors for the wort and brass hose-lock connectors for the water.

You sure it's not 3/4" BSP and 1/2" BSP?

You need camlocks or hose barbs for the 1/2" and you can use hoselock connectors for the 3/4" stuff. plenty of PTFE and you're set.(buy a few rolls, its cheap, and you'll need it every time you want to use the chiller)

Before you order any fittings - The measurement across the thread doesn't tell you the thread size. There's a table here to help:

http://www.pipefittingsdirect.co.uk/con ... cation.pdf

If you measured 1" across the thread, it is probably a 3/4" fitting, and the one that's 3/4" across is probably 1/2" fitting. I think a fitting size refers to the internal diameter of pipe with a given thread.

I have one of those and I use standard hose lock fittings for the cold water flow like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-4-inch ... s=hozelock

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p66154

The good thing about those is that it has both types of thread required 1/2 and 3/4 inch BSP so you could get 4 and cover all you need (cheaper ones are available ofc ) but for the wort I use john guest fittings like these

Have you managed to get this set-up?

I'm really useless with DIY, but I've just purchased a similar plate chiller. I'm wondering, do I need all 4x BSP fitting like these http://themaltmiller.co.uk/index.php?_a ... ductId=528 and then one of these on top http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-4-inch ... s=hozelock for the hose connector?

It's an all 1/2inch connector system.

Also can I just set it up with three silicone tubes (wort in, wort out, water out), and one hose (water in) or will I need 2x silicone tubes for the wort, and 2x hoses for the water?

Cheers

Anthony

Looking at it you need 2 of each. The Malt Miller ones for the wort in and out and the hoselock for water in/out. I use standard hose for the water and silicon for the wort as it saves getting dirty water piping mixed up with clean wort

I would use silicon for water out as it comes out very hot and hose pipe kinks.

I put the hot water into my HLT and use it for washing up with.
