I'll second that, it's currently an ideal 15C ambient temperature and has been for the last week! No wet towels and ice packs just yet  just to be on the safe side I've tucked the brew up in the darkest corner of our cold north facing dining room.

Regarding earlier posts about extra hopping I put in an additional 46g (the rest of the pack) when I turned the boiler off (flame-out hops :?:. This seemed to deliver a real burst of citrus smell and an added bonus of yellow oil in the fermenter

Nice one JP. There we are. A little healthy debate raises the performance bar all round, now everybody is going to either be making up a decent starter, or rehydrating more than one pack. End result..better beer. That's what it's all about :) Chuffed.

I certainly see what you're saying SteveD I've seen the pictures over on Wez's thread and am impressed.

In the interests of fairness I'll pitch a couple of packets in my next brew and see what happens then! Either way I'll be employing one of the methods on a permanent basis, result = better beer and that's all any of us are in the HB game for!
