Unusual reg fittings...

Hello all, just got a selection of things from a guy I know and one was this primary reg:

I've no idea what the fittings on the left are all about, anyone able to enlighten me?
Anyway, will be selling off cheap if anyone is interested.
The Hand of Doom Brewery and Meadery
Fermenting -
Conditioning - Meads - Raspberry Melomel yeast test, Vanilla Cinnamon Metheglyn, Orange Melomel.
Drinking - Youngs AAA Kit; Leatherwood Traditional Mead, Cyser, Ginger Metheglyn.
Planning - Some kits until I can get back to AG, then a hoppy porter, Jim's ESB, some American Red.

I'm of the mind that these are some kind of PRV? The setup of the high pressure hose and JG fitting seems the wrong way around too.

PRV's look favourite but they do look odd. Can we have a view looks down inside them?
