AG23 Draught Amber Punk

this weeks brew

5 kilo maris otter
50 gram carafa111
50gram roasted barley
300g biscuit
300gram carapils
300gram wheat

single mash 90 mins at 66c


90min
15 gram simcoe

15min
1/2 protofloc

10min
10gram anthanum
10 gram nelson sauvin
30 gram simcoe

zero mns
get to 80c hold for 20 30 mins with
20gram nelson
15 gram anthunum
30 gram simcoe

20gram safale 05 rehydrated with 200ml

I think the removal of the Chinook can only but improve this beer. For me it's the one weak point of punk IPA - which is still a good beer.
Look forward to hearing how this turns out. I'm not a fan of additional Roast Barley in hoppy pale ales - even if it's only 50g - be interesting to see if it contributes anything in terms of flavour.

weighed out ready to brew tomorrow 1st thing
well had to have a break brewing
1 thing my fridge only worked for the winter heating but didn't work as a fridge so been searching for one
at last last week i came across a beauty a++ rating beco
big enough for my 32 litre fermenter or my newly acquired cornie keg
so drinking beer at 11c at mo
my new brew fridge is working excellently

well what a great brew day around 6hours in total
swapped the roasted barley for 75 grams of carafa special iii
and omitted the wheat
had a friend round to get the basics
and a brew dog Mandy

re-racked to dry hop
75g simcoe
20gram nelson
15 gram anthunum
running low on hops now

sure do at 2 quid a 330ml bottle and as you see i get through quite a lot of them
must have over 150 punk ipa bottles at the moment
mine work out at around 50 70p :=P
