Lemonade brew?
Lemonade brew?
Without wanting to be laughed off the forum, I pose to you the following question:
Could I not throw some lemonade, sugar, maybe a few squirts of Jif and some yeast into a carboy to produce a lemon tasting alchoholic drink?
The reason I ask this is I would like to brew something the wife would enjoy so she too can experience the joys of home brewing but the trouble is she only drinks alcho-pops & Martini Asti.
I would also no doubt enjoy the experiment.
What are your thoughts on this?

When you brew your lemonade could you post the recipe and keep us updated? I am keen on branching out beyond beer and my ginger beer (which i personally think is the bees knees).
Cheers

Good evening DrSmurto
I wasn't going to post the recipe for fear of being black balled from the forum, but seeing as you have requested it I will.
Cheers
James
My wife's lemonade recipe:
juice of 7 lemons
250 ml sugar
boil five or six lemon rinds, yellow down, in a saucepan with the sugar for couple of minutes.
pitch into lemon juice which is conveniently located in a jug, top up to taste (usually about 1.5 - 2l), and serve on ice.
I have one for cream soda too, if anyone's interested.

the 1st drink I ever made was the "The Experimental Zone" alcopops on yobrew as an experiment, all I can say is LEAVE IT ALONE...
I now have 5 demijohns, 3 * 40 pint barrels and 2 fermenting buckets and I find that I need more, and more AND MORE.... mind you, it is good fun
