What do you guys think about this?

Just got my hands on a fridge for free, so eager to get it set up!

Grant,
If you are confident enough to rewire a plug then you can construct one of these. It took me about an hour BUT if you are at all unsure of your abilities then it makes sense to allow someone else to do it, although through e-bay how can you be sure of the poster's ability?
The parts ( STC 1000, 2x tails, suitable box and wire) will cost between £20 and £25 so £40 ready built isn't bad.
The heater is the same as I use and it is fine inside the fridge. The heater only comes with a short power lead and so I was glad I made my controller as I allowed a longer lead on the heat out socket, this allows me to place the controller on top of the fridge.

Wire it up yourself that is expensive.

its easy to wire up and plenty of diagrams on net and vids on you tube.

i use a small 1ft tube heater in mine and it works a treat

Thanks for the input guys.

It's more laziness on my part than ability tbh. I think I'll get it then and the heater, maybe I'll extend the heater cable.

The other guys make good points, it is relatively simple to do. However, this is a decent price and for the ease of having it ready done not a bad option. I've got a couple of the old Cedaronics ones because I'm lazy...
