Not on my plastic conical I don't :D Normally PBW and star san.

A deep clean on the copper . . . then yes I used to . . . now it's more likely to be PBW

The RG550 is my workhorse cleaning pump, and has seen a lot of duty recirculating hot caustic and acid washes for quite a few years. PBW has completely changed my regime though as it really is so good.

Cheers!

I've never actually used PBW before, do you need to warm it up much?

Thanks a lot!

I've just been looking into getting a CIP ball, but didn't really want to use caustic. So
PBW sounds really good.

@Roscoe; thinking about your plastic bag cooling jacket concept, have you thought about using one or more hydration bladders (like Camelbak or cheaper unbranded version)? I expect you'd need to wrap some kind of sheet around it all to keep it all in check and keep the effective volume of the bladders down but could be an option...

I have a non rotating ss spray thing, it's rubbish, I also have a cheapo mister thing, never got it to work right.

After holding out for cheaper SS rotating I gave in and reluctantly got a plastic one (careful-easy damage to threads)

Its works great, dogs dangles even, although I do have a ridiculously large CIP pump that can spin the thing into orbit as the std march brew pumps etc can't raise the necessary pressure.

Must stop looking at conical threads ($$$$).. I'm going back to smaller batches and reusing Dolium or other kegs as fermenters for ales .......... just replace every so often

You'll have to contact Mr Lard directly. I spoke to him last week and he's waiting on prices. These are his premium range. There is also a cheaper 35 litre and 70 litre range which is supposed to rival the SS Brewing Technologies Chronicals.

That will be a good seller for him I think.
