Proper keg/cask where to buy

Guys
Does anyone know if you can buy the proper plastic barrels/kegs/casks to serve beer from? You know the type you hammer a tap into the front of ?
We're thinking of brewing up a couple of beers for our wedding and fancy serving this way.

I know Patch bought some recently from Brewery Plastics/Cypherco, roughly half the price of Stainless but don't forget you'll need all your sundries like keystones, shives, hard & soft spiles, basic stillage and of course the taps and spigots. It's an interesting experience to learn and conquer but makes thoroughly good beer even better.

the SS ones are better than plastic imho as you cant damage the holes working out the spent bungs easily.

fwiw imho you can approximate a cask beer in a keg with a nominal serving pressure if you can tweak the gas down that far (circa 2psi) and the 30l eco kegs via ebay are only £25 each delivered. while im using cornys if buying now i would be considering the eco kegs very seriously..

What about if you were to carbonate with sugar/dextrose, rather than force carbonating. Is there still a big difference ?

In my opinion yes, there is a hell'uva difference. You get a completely different profile by letting it ferment out the last couple of gravity points compared to priming or force carbonating.

I know they sold off old plastic kegs a while ago and when they do their 'rent a cask' for buying a barrel of bright beer they provide a kit of all the sundries required.

one of the other options we considered was Stewart's since they are our local (10 mins away) brewery.

Ha! Sounds like a couple of months to pick some favourite recipes..

I first came across the brewery when getting beer for a byo wedding reception, a group all chipped in and we had a cask of Pentland IPA.

The hammering in of the tap and spile provided great theatre, just remember some towels for a bit of spray

Why bother with a tap and spiles when you can just use a Caskwidge? 10x easier.
