It went away when all the butchers disappeared / closed down and there was no easy access for bones.themadhippy » Thu Apr 16, 2015 11:21 pm
What did happen to white dog shit?Probably the same ones who ask what ever became of white Dog shit
Source: family used to feed bones to dog resulting in white shit. Always amazed me to see a Doberman disappear a large cow bone in a matter if hours...

Whooah!!! Fastline; I've been doing my usual, with my stout, all day. I had an FV of Dark stood by and intended to get amongst that tomorrow, ideally. My stout running out.
However, the stout keg emptied

F**k me! What a difference! I'm no good at this " Hopped IPA aroma " sort of bollocks talk. I can just give ye a Ditch level sort of impression:
It's So much 'cleaner'! This Coopers Dark. Oops! Heh; Had to go and get another pint ~ just for the sake of giving ye an honest answer here!

Yeah. This is more toward the lager side of the pendulum that I know. A beer I'd drink with a summer evenings take away and a film at a mates place.
Yeppers. There's definitely something happening, inside me, with this one. Quite different and 'Exciting' / 'Lighter' than the experience I get from drinking my stout.
Dunno. Put a gun to my head and, I think, I'd have to say that this stuff ~ Coopers Dark Ale ~ is just closer to a pint I might experience in a pub. Heh! If I Was F**king Lucky!!!

Mmm. This shit is Good!
Pat turned up here, the other day, straight off the tractor. F**ked. He asked me if I had any Karpacki. I said I hadn't. But, I had some of my stout. And it was primo!
He's like, " Naaah. I really needed a throat quenching sweat additive. " I eye f**ked him. He's like; " Okay. Just a half then ..... "
Brought him a Good half, in a pint glass: Sip ..... Gone! Sweat everywhere! I thought he was gonna jump the gate and charge into my beer room for more!
Anyway; At least we're now back to talking about beer here. There's the Tap Room for white Dog shit, you other people

Right Then! I`d better buy a Coopers Dark and see what all the fuss is about!Ditch wrote:Fastline wrote:Ditch do you do any other kits or are you settled on your stout?

By all means do try a kit, Wales. Probably better to start a thread about it yeself though. We don't want this one turning into a Stout / Dark Ale / Dog Shit cacophonyWalesAles wrote: Right Then! I`d better buy a Coopers Dark and see what all the fuss is about!

Drinking Dark as I type. As said; I'm no good at all this sniffing, gargling and opining shit. I'd just say this is a 'Cleaner' one, on the neck. Bit like the difference in cold water and warm milk?
But, anyway; Yeah. Try some and kick off a thread about it. I'll be there. Got a Stout and a Dark kit on the shelf. Stout kit in the FV. Get ye skates on and we could be sampling, for ye own thread, 'Neck and Neck'!

Re: " Ditch's Stout " Master Class .....
Had one of Those moments, this afters .....
Put my last two kits in ~ a stout and a dark, as it happens. Shane'll be hearing from me any time now then
Remind me, will ye, people? The Dark's in the FV with a tap.
Anyway; So, I've poured one kit into the FV and slung the water in there. Then, I've poured the next kit into the other FV. Left it hanging on my mole bar. Boiled the kettle and eventually took the tin off the moles and filled it with boiling water.
That's when I had my moment. I've took the lid off the second FV and seen the black gloop in there. I've shit myself! Mind seized up as I tried to work out what the gear was doing in there. When the other FV was watered. And I had this kit sat on the side ....!
Probably makes no sense what so ever, to you clear headed f**kers reading this. But, for me? It was a real scare! Until it sunk in that the 'Kit on the side' was actually just the 'empty' tin, being soaked out of the last remains of the gloop I'd poured into this FV!
For a minute there, in my utter confusion, I actually wondered if I'd poured Both kits into the same FV! Now, There would be an experiment worthy of 'Wales', eh? Stout and Dark combined!

I've done the dark and was really disappointed with it....I reckon I must have done something wrong as on paper sounds like my IDEAL pint. Have to try again in the near future.WalesAles wrote:Right Then! Hengoed; I feel a bit like Kirk f**king Douglass here; Staring, steely eyed, ahead as I grimly hold onto the rudder arm of this entire thread .....
Briefly then; I can't imagine Any kit maker, who had a clue what he was looking for, being disappointed with Dark. I'm finishing off my last lot, as I type. Then, it's a night or two on the Karpacki whilst my tandem Stout and Dark FV's finish.
I'll be amongst the stout first. But, only because I've just done this four gallons of Dark.
Like me, ye'll just have to wait around, with baited breath, for Wales' take on the Dark.
That'll be on his own thread, of course. Not on this one. And I'll be gagging to see it and dive in with my own views too. Dark deserves discussion!

It was one of my very earliest kits. It was ok but without looking at my notes very sweet and not what I was expecting- I was expecting real chocolate and coffee notes from a YouTube video I watched reviewing it. The stout was much better. I'll nick Wales' recipe when he has done it (after your 3 gallon stout which is next to brew!)Ditch wrote:Hengoed; I feel a bit like Kirk f**king Douglass here; Staring, steely eyed, ahead as I grimly hold onto the rudder arm of this entire thread .....

Re: " Ditch's Stout " Master Class .....
Pulled a first pint out my that latest bucket of stout today. Since that bad run I had, not so long back, there's always a certain frisson as I suck in that first, small mouthful.
Hit the tongue and I'd swallowed it, even before realising it. Stood, saying to myself; " Well, there's nothing wrong with that! "
Then, turning to the door, I came into the kitchen yelling, " Oh, F**k Me!!! OMFG, Yes!!! Aaaargh, Jesus! "
It was like that foamy, rich, chewable coffee we used to get ~ in the Italian cafe. Before Starbucks came along. Espresso? I don't know. I don't remember. It was just like the strongest, creamiest, most deliciously chocolate chipped coffee I've ever tasted.
Now; Interesting, this. Because ~ and let's, ffs, not bend this thread in two all over again? ~ because I've not long since compared the stout to the dark.
I think I just have, again. Yeppers. The Dark is a clean, cool ~ dare I say it? ~ more 'watery' pint. This Stout (Served Warm!!! The FTH is still on. I was tasting it as 23C!) is so Thick, it almost blocks ye throat with its 'Mouth Feel' and richness of flavour.
Summer is coming .....

Just put one on, using the original amber DME and brown sugar. I'm in a rather desperate state my last batch a SNPA clone was ruined by corrosion the beer was tainted.
So its a quick stout to pad things out till my next brew day.

Err...... They don't look like beer drinkers to me.
Actually those "bad boyz" look as if they've just come from the gym after a eating one of those macro balanced, low fat, low taste, super food meal deals whilst listening to the Archers omnibus edition.
To important matters, the fermentation is all but over I'm just trying for the last point or so. I'll probably keg 1/2 and bottle the rest

Nothing wrong with The Archers (At least, not twenty years ago. Then it started getting a bit too Channel 4!
)
Anyway; Put a couple of Stouts in today. Reminded me to tell this thread ~ I hope to christ I haven't already done so, and forgotten?! Ditch's Top Tip, # God Knows What ..... The Yeast!
Just f**king sling it in there!
Dried malt. Gloop out of the tin. Rest of the gloop, washed out with a kettle of boiling water. Top up to four gallons, with cold water. Bung the f**king yeast in. Stir. Chuck the heater in. Be happy!
I've been doing this for months now. It works! Why wait for the (Thrashed up) foam to die down, before sprinkling the yeast in there? Why sprinkle the yeast all over a massive head of thrashed up foam, leaving it to sink through?!
People; Being power drilled in, along with the powder and 'liquid' malts, does the yeast no harm what so ever!
Best of all? It probably saves anything from six hours off the 'sit and soak' time ye'd normally experience. I mean, seriously; Why 'Make' ye beer ~ then have to make a point of going back to it, hours later, just to " Pitch the yeast " ?
