OK it is 50cm from the "holders" to the element, and the malt sleeve is 45cm deep, so that leaves just under 5cm (allowing for the nut on the bottom)

Err... I'm not understanding that at all, am I right in thinking that from the bottom filter plate to the top face of the concealed element is 50mm?
I'm doing a 1/2 size build and planning on a 50mm gap.
Thanks. Aamcle
P's I'll get new aftershave!

It will be about 4cm allowing for the nut on the bottom of the sleeve. If you aren't using the overflow pipe then 5cm.
The "holders" are the wire that holds the sleeve up when draining it, it also sits on this when in place.

Right thanks, I got a bit of 250mm Stainless flue pipe this morning and I plan to use it for the MP..
I'll position the bottom filter to give a 50mm gap and arrange to hang the MP in the Burco.
thanks again. Aamcle
