Brewday 14/07 - "Not Tonight Dear"

Post by Wez » Sat Jul 14, 2007 7:31 am

Following THIS last night, I am brewing this today:

6350gm Pale Malt (MO) Grain 98.1%
125gm Crystal Malt Grain 1.9%
65gm Challenger [6.80%] (90 min) 40.0 IBU
50gm Styrian Goldings [3.00%] (at switch off)

24 L Batch
Target OG 1060
EBU 40
Based on 75 eff

The mash is on 65 degrees for 90 mins, it's the fullest the tun has ever been so could be interesting.

All we need now is for SteveD to give it a name.... :D

Morning Gents

I am currently psyching myself up to go to the H&G and get some grain - Another cup of tea is in order before I attempt to do "outside"!

Done and dusted now :D :D

Ended up with 25L at 1060 I was only going for 24L but overshot the gravity a little bit so diluted down by another litre. Beersmith tells me thats a 77.4 efficiency.

Safeale s-04 pitched, just waiting for the glug glug glug now

Best of luck to todays brewers!

My as yet unnamed brew is in the boiler. Whilst I wait for it to come to the boil I'm off to do my sanitation routine. I'll also have to bottle up last weeks brew.

I better start thinking about what hops I'm going to put in it!
