Rob does sell the first spring I have, although not with the sexy brewpi fitting https://store.brewpi.com/featured/brewp ... xe-kit-npt

I will be selling the one I have as it is now surplus to requirements

The other type of spring with the fitting I cut down.

Note in my experience they need a good syphon or pump for best results.

If you are selling the spring kit PM me) with the length/photo as I might buy it.

My last dither is still over the pump(s) as I can't see the benefit of two over one more powerful one and/or how much better the Speidel style removable head ones are over say a chugger.

What is that contraption ? :)

BTW: Found a supplier of single wall stainless flues in UK.

http://www.i-sells.co.uk/304-dia-x-300- ... swfp304300

Seller has larger diameter models too.

e.g. http://www.i-sells.co.uk/457-dia-x-300- ... swfp457300

Wall thickness is 0.5mm BTW

Lifting the large malt tube can be somewhat of a hassle, so rather than using a block & tackle / engine hoist / hoist, I was able lucky to source a cheap platform lift, string some chain across & lift the malt tube free. It will also be useful for lifting 50l kegs onto a shelf.

I love the way you have a space saving single vessel brewery but then have that great piece of kit for lifting the tube!

Loving this thread guys and will try and repeat what you are doing with a thermopot, BM 50l pipe, ardbir and chugger, the last 2 I already have. I also like to be able to scale it back to 25L.
I have a couple of questions and just thinking out loud here.
Is the base of a thermopot sufficiently stable/strong enough to mount the central shaft? what are you both using for that shaft?
I see on barneeys that he used a 2 feed and 2 return, do you believe that's a definite requirement or could you get away with one it would just make some of the plumbing a hell of a lot easier?
I was thinking about hops and have great success with whirlpool on my current boiler, I was thinking instead of deck valve you used a 90 elbow under the malt pipe as close to its inner edge as possible and pointing at a 45 degree angle so that when malt pipe was removed it could act as a whirlpool, any thoughts?

My build is using a traditional pot, not a thermo pot, so cannot comment if the base of the thermo is stable enough for the central shaft.

Having dealt with lots of pots in the past the thermo's are thinner than a standard pot, a couple of large washers however would beef things up.

No idea if a 1 pump system would work with the 50l MT, I decided that I had experimented too much in the past so went for more of a clone unit + having two pumps for me will come in useful with modified MT.

If you are only after a 20/5 l unit just use a 70l standard pot.

My Lael control panel has arrived and it is much more advanced than an original BM control panel, not too sure how it compares against the latest version of the BM (having never used one).

Will the PiZero be the future though?

Could ask one of our US cousins.
US release, and the magazine will be in Barnes & Nobles later than expected. According to our suppliers, they’ll be in stores all across the US by 12 January 2016. While issues will be turning up a little earlier on the East coast, it does mean they won’t be hitting stores before Christmas in America.
