if your using another pin for second element control why not use one of the pwm outs, and either a pot on an anolouge in,or a rotary encoder on 2 digital ins to set the output level

Been trying to work out how to mount the panel to the build, I altered a bracket I had +adjusted the profile lengths + panel profile to except a curve. I did try a tilt feature but the unit ended up too far away from the bracket.

Very nearly there, just the final internal wiring of the elements + pumps & then the leak test / operation test.

Been having a mare with the cone seat unions so much so I have cut out all the pipework to start again from scratch using as few joints as possible, a slight set back on the build.

Looks fantastic. Definite spaceship territory. I have just got one of those mounts for my telly!

Cone seat unions... WTF are they?

By the way, do you have any idea what grade mesh the fine filters are? I need to order some from eBay.

https://www.bes.co.uk/products/165a.asp they would have enable the pipework to become detached for servicing. In practice as the pump is screw on there is no need for them IMHO just another joint = possible leak.

I was going to mount the control inside the stainless but with the amount of cutting and trying to get a good finish I decided the converted TV bracket was the better option.

As for the fine mesh filter, instead of buying a sheet and cutting it, I went for the springy premade ones from the Italian supplier, which according to their blurb do not fray, so a little more in monetary terms but may save future cuts.

Ahh I see. Yes with the actual BM pumps with removeable heads they dont seem as necessary. Incidentally have you observed much difference volumes of water being moved around by two pumps vs one? Noise difference? I've not seen/heard those pumps or a genuine BM in action so difficult to compare.

Linky to the Italian screens?

I'm still looking at controllers. Ideally I want something 'connected' and with better storage/import of profiles. ArdBir seems to be going off on a tangent and I can't see any evidence of development on AHB to make use of your brauduinos capability to slip in a Spark chip.

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=74354 it is the Brew PI version with the special made connector.

The springs can be slow using gravity so will be experimenting with a pump when the system is up and running.

Yes it seems like the perfect solution but the general feedback on-line seems to be terrible. Kettle to fermenter is one of the stages of my brew day that always goes badly so I want it to be good with this.

Also I was hoping to go for a 3/4 valve and so this spring, especially if its flow is poor, wont work well with that.

Yes the BrewPi one looks good. Even if the rest of the project is dying a slow and painful death at the moment!

You have to register first and then have your account verified which can take a day or so. I have ordered the hop filter and those mesh screens for my BM from them. Postage was around 14 EUR via DHL.
