It's a very old book, circa 1970's, will seem a bit dated now but was my bible for many years.

I have to say (and I apologise if anybody finds my opinion offensive) that I can't imagine why anybody would want to drink Double Diamond EVER again. It was utter garbage along with some of the other mass produced dishwater of that era; Ben Truman, Norwich Bitter, Tolly Cobbold etc. [-X

Every one to their own but you tell a 70 man that d d is rubbish and I feel you would get a mouthful my question is d d any worse than turbo cider or the worst of all coloured water sometime called larger =D> Only one more week until we bottle then the tests will start =D>

I must admit, having been weaned on Breakspears in the 1970's, anyone suggesting we grab a pint of DD would have been laughed out the pub. I always think of it along similar lines to Watneys Red Barrel.

There is a recipe in Dave Lines "Brewing Beers like those you buy" page 125. If you haven't got the book pm me and I'll give you the recipe.

Many thanks to all who offered help with my request for a DD clone we racked to night in a clean vessel waiting until next weekend when we hope to bottle it seemed to ferment out quickly with a micro brewery's yeast it tastes okay but time will tell.
On reading Dave lines book it brought back memories of climbing over the fence at Starkey Knight and Ford brewery and draining the trophy dregs from the wood barrels and filtering through our handkerchief until caught by the night watchman who took us to his hut and interduced us to Whitbread tankard what good times we had thanks again [-X

Have just spent the morning with my brother bottling the DD as it settled out at 1.10 this corresponds with the recipe but I hope it settles down as it seems quite sweet but I hope come June it should be okay . We also bottled Seymours citra dark this seems to be on the money a great first taste =D>
