200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
I have a 100 litre electric brewery that I need to expand to supply more cask. Ideally I want to upgrade the brew kettle to 200 litres as at that is always filled to the brim at the start of a boil (see https://www.facebook.com/EmsworthBrewho ... =2&theater)
However Homebrew Builder and Bridgewater brewing are out of stock on 200 litre StockPots. Anyone know of a reliable supplier for the quality stock pots with the 6mm bases?

They don't (IIRC) have thick bottoms, but FWIW brouwland in europe were one of the few places that I knew of for such things, before homebrew-builder arrived.

Good thinking Kev - has anyone experience of these Brouwland pots, and how do they compare to the Chinese imported items that Brew Builder etc build?

Re: 200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
The Italian for litre is Litri, doing a search in ilatlian ebay for 200 litri inox does produce some results, many of which seem to post to the UK (here). Interesting, Fil, I didn't know that.
EDIT: FWIW I once had a boiler that I believe had been made from a brouwland pot/tank (which on reflection was italian made so I'd suspect they may be the same source). Anyway, the boiler pot was fairly reasonable, probably on a par with the bergland stock pots in thickness etc, so I had no quibbles but I wouldn't call them premium products (although they do look very nice with the machine turning pattern). That was quite a few years ago though and things do change so if anyone has more recent experience it would be useful.
Cheers

after getting the steer to search ebay.fr for 'inox marmite' for the infamous german stocpot and thermopot supplier I thought i would check out a few other country specific ebay sites, the Italian version did provide some interesting results..

Re: 200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
Hi, I found this earlier and wondered who they might supply? It might lead to a good deal.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2 ... CqoPPS&s=p
The price is obviously plus carriage, but it's the minimum order that gets you!
As much as I like a drink, I couldn't use 50 of them...

Hi,
I just received my shipment of 4 225l pots from the above supplier (Jiangmen Keonomy). Pots look good and high quality. Be careful with the shipping though and expect a long lead time.. I ordered mine back in late January and got completely nailed with freight forwarding!

Re: 200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
Did you have to pay customs / import duties? What happened with the freight forwarding ? Oh and how did you get 4 with minimum quantity being 50?cathdog wrote:Hi,

Re: 200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
They will do small orders, but the supplier wont agree to FOB shipping terms for an order under 40, which is why the freight forwarding becomes a nightmare! In the end import duty + import VAT+ Shipping cost more than the actual pots themselves, and it was a long, protracted process!
Shame i didn't see this a few months ago- we could have lumped our orders together!

Re: 200 Litre Stock Pot shortage?
You might also want to try a company like samsfabrications.co.uk. They might be able to put something together for you. If i could go back in time, i'd probably have tried that, and every other option, before trying China. That said, the stressful and costly process, did have some benefits. I now fully understand international shipping terms and could import anything from anywhere!
