Forgot to add he will accept payment via Paypal, but you may have to use your bank account/debit card to avoid charges for him.Stoat on a rope wrote:Ha I'd blame auto correct but I genuinely read Pegasus, probably why my google searches didn't work too well either! Thanks Orlando!

I wouldnt imagine so as CO2 (being heaver than air) will still be sitting on whatever headspace is left of bottle when you open it.Matt in Birdham wrote:Are there any issues with oxygen when taking the cap off & replacing with the normal PET cap?.endatheworld wrote:
I use one of these Carbonation caps to fill bottles from Keg. Its easy enough but a little time consuming if you where planning on doing a full batch but If you only do a few a time its a cheap option. They are also very usefull for cleaning your kegerator line.

Think I will give one of these a try, looks like a great solution if I use it a lot will consider buying a proper one does anyone know if the Pegas Evolution model fills glass bottles without adding a shim/space,r I presume the cut down washer/spacer thing is just to raise the neck of a glass bottle so it fits against the sealGoulders wrote:I have a Chinese one. Been meaning to ask you this for a while but:orlando wrote:The beauty of the Pegas is once you have it permanently mounted its utility becomes an overwhelming advantage. Filling the odd bottle for a friend etc or as you are nipping out to someone for a meal, you are quite happy to take a few minutes to fill a bottle or two because it is so easy. As you can see, you can mount a tap to it to dispense with as well, what's not to like?
- Do you know if the shank is interchangeable with "normal ones"; I am thinking that they are fine to mount in a collar of a keezer but a fridge wall is usually too thick to do so unless the insulation is cut away.
- Do you just flush the tap added to it through normally or open the Pegas as well when cleaning, assuming you have only been using the normal tap?

I think so, I haven't fitted to a fridge though so not Gospel. Flush as normal, the tap connects to a hole that leads to the shank, no need to open the Pegas.f00b4r wrote:

Have you taken the pegas apart to check inside how clean it is?

No, probably never get it back together again. I have flushed with purple beer line cleaner and taken down and used brushes on all the accessible parts but not dismantled completely.barneey wrote:Have you taken the pegas apart to check inside how clean it is?

Re: Beer Gun or counter pressure filler
I've been trying to decide between a beer gun or a counter pressure filler for a while and have in the past given up deciding as both have their drawbacks.
I have crusader kegs for the vast majority of my beer. I bottle condition the occasional batch (big stouts or batches for a present) using a wand and bottling bucket and fill the odd growler direct from the keg (which is a pain, I just use the perlick bit of tube that attaches to the tap).
The Pegas evolution could be fitted directly to my kegorator but that really only can be used for the occasional bottle fill if you cant use it with glass. Unless I change to plastic 500ml bottles, but you wouldn't leave a RIS in one of those for a year would you?
The beer gun looks more fiddly to set up and use but I'd be able to fill full batches. Less likely to set it up for the occasional growler fill maybe though.

Re: Beer Gun or counter pressure filler
For filling the odd bottle I always used a short piece of pipe pushed over the tap, connected to a bottling wand.
For bottling bigger batches I used a beer gun.
I rarely bottled bigger batches from a keg, I couldn't really see the point, easier to leave it in the keg.

Re: Beer Gun or counter pressure filler
The Pegas is useful for filling bottles for competitions, minimising oxidation issues.

There's another thread on this from Sep 15 if you search. The video below shows the Pegas in use.

You can use it with glass if you cut a washer down and accept the risk of filling glass under pressure (although you should be using the same as it is carbonated at anyway).UpTheToon wrote:I've been trying to decide between a beer gun or a counter pressure filler for a while and have in the past given up deciding as both have their drawbacks.
