Anyone bought Cornys from "Normannumpa"?
Anyone bought Cornys from "Normannumpa"?
There is a an Ebay seller offering 2 x cornys for £80 delivered.
I am looking for a couple of extra kegs and was thinking of buying the 3 for £100 from the Home Brew Company.
I bought 3 from them with no problems but there does seem to have been a few issues with them and the "sold as is" catch.
These ones have been polished and tested.

Norm is a well established seller of kegs and gas related stuff & certainly knows his range of goods for sale / very knowledgeable.
The photo of the kegs do detail a couple of dents so it all depends if that puts you off or not, personally myself it wouldn't.

The dents certainly don't worry me!
I think I will go ahead and order.
Thanks for the info.

Those two are still being listed for £100, the price may drop further. I assume "fully serviced" includes a new set of seals?
I had a set of five from Ireland ranging from near new to ancient. None had noticeable dents. It's true the Irish ones are "sold as is" but that is "for dispensing beers and wines under pressure". They may well be cosmetically challenged, nevertheless they must still be fit for purpose. I don't think any of mine had any new seals but all hold pressure easily - before I got my gas sorted I poured a kettle of boiling water into a cold keg, shut the lid and shook it to get the air heated/expanded a bit.
I reckon you stand a good chance of getting less dented kegs from Ireland but either source should be safe and usable.

Norm as said by Barneey has been around for ages, so can be trusted. So can HBC. The sold as is, is because these are all used kegs, so will have seen a lot of service as syrup kegs in a former life, so all have the odd ding here and there. The seals are the important part, but easily changed. Norms kegs will arrive with a bit of pressure so you know they seal.gobuchul wrote:There is a an Ebay seller offering 2 x cornys for £80 delivered.

I've bought kegs, connections parts, a regulator and taps from Norm without issue.

Another thumbs up from me. I've bought kegs and taps from Norm in the past. All good...
Re: Anyone bought Cornys from "Normannumpa"?
I bought my kegs from Norm 5 years ago and they are still going strong

Re: Anyone bought Cornys from "Normannumpa"?
2 kegs arrived today.
Polished and pressurised. No strong smell and the seals look new. A couple of dings and dents but nothing major.
I bought 2 from the Home Brew Company and had to change the seals to get rid of the fizzy drink smell, so Norman would seem to be better value.
Very happy.
