INTRODUCING: Seymour Citra Dark

Looking at doing this as my next brew. Quick question, I have a bottle of the Citra Hop Aroma Oil, Could I use the whole bottle as a sub for 170gram Citra Dry Hop to keep costs down?

Probably should have said WA, it is 15ml, the packet suggests a rate of 2ml per 23L batch - I stuck 2ml in a batch of lager, and could not taste any difference, that is why I was thinking of dumping the lot into it. 170g is a lot of hops, and was thinking of just going for it! Besides it is cheaper than 170g of Citra hops (that works out at about £10!!!).

Hi WA, no unfortunately I will not. Truth be told I have only got back into brewing since Easter. After having a child for the first time in 2015 it has taken me a while to get my brewing mojo back, but decided to treat myself to a Grainfather as a welcome back present! So, have only recently seen the Festival details and could defo not clear that with the wife. Perhaps next year? The only problem I have with it is that it falls on GCSE and A Level Exam Season, ad being a teacher I like to mark for extra cash, so wouldnt be able to if I was to do the festival.

Very nice.
I was quite surprised I could taste the dark grains. Hop flavour was decent, without too much bitterness.
I'd brew it again.

Thanks mbarn and demig, and thanks to Seymour for developing this beer. Think I will brew this the end of next month, so it will be ready when it cools, a bit, here in central Florida.

Finally got round to ordering this in, someone has previously made it up as a kit on the MM site without the Citra however I have 500g of that to get through in the freezer so will be good to go.

I plant to brew this in a couple of weeks once I get a Kolsch out of the way. The plan is to let it ferment out for as long as needed, I will dry hop directly in the keg at warmer temps for a week at least whilst force carbonating and then cool it down to let the hop settle down to the bottom (I used a Corny which has been modded to dispense from the top).
