Stout kit - any recommendations?

Hi - can anyone recommend a kit that produces a dry stout (much like the Irish Beamish or Murphys) but not as strongly flavoured as Coopers? Edme's Dry Irish Stout was ideal but I haven't seen it for ages.

Has anyone tried the Wilko Dark Velvet Stout? Its description is: This 40 pint beer making kit will brew a full bodied rich, dark stout with the simple addition of 1kg of brewing sugar. I wonder whether it may be too sweet and rich.

Dunno iff it might be what your lookin for but Walesales has a beauty earl grey stout recipe on ere somewhere using a wilko dark stout.

Not seen it mentioned for a while but Ditch's Stout Recipie always turns out nice and pretty similar to a Murphy's. It uses coopers stout as a base with 1kg dried malt extract and a mug full of sugar. Made to 20 litres. Drinkable as soon as fermentation is complete. I've done the same with Wilkos stout and it came out nice too.

If you use the Wilko Velvet Stout,
Add 1kg Med Spraymalt, (NOT Brewing Sugar),
500gr Demerara Sugar
Dry Hop day 7 with 40 good quality Earl Grey Tea bags. (Weighted down of course).
Take the Tea Bags out a day before bottling, give them a good squeeze to get all the tea flavour out.
Should be 1050 - 1052 to 20Lts. FG 1010

WalesAles - next time I go towards Swansea I may call in and do a swop to try the Earl Grey stout - will obviously ring first. The Earl Grey factor sounds very interesting but at the moment I'm just looking for a simple kit along the lines of Edme.
