Element switch overheating

Hey folks,

I built this one vessel system recently:

Having an issue with the element switch on the control box. Gets so hot I can't touch it. This is the second switch I've put on there as the first one melted and died. I assumed that this was down to one or two dodgy connections. Before soldering up the new one, I ensured that all connections were tight and soldered everything. I'm confident with the connections. New one still getting super hot! I have a feeling this one will go the same way. Here is the switch I used which is rated at 15A

I'm using a 15a element, so in theory, this should be able to cope...

Any ideas? Are these switches simply crap? It doesn't seem to be able to cope with the current.

Nice chinese switches, like most of the chinese stuff it might say one thing.. I'd bet they aren't even remotely suitable to what you need .

Interestingly... I've plugged it into a different plug socket and it's not as hot. Current plug socket is much sturdier and plug is tight in there...

I've melted a number of switches and a 13 amp plug, the ebay switches aren't good and I had trouble finding 15 amp at 240 v the adds are often deceptive 15 amp at 110 v for example.

It's worth looking for good quality switches and plugs, Wilco's plugs for instance are not what you want.
